“For those of you who are wondering when and whether to start a family, here’s one more piece of Thompson family advice.” –Anna Sale
“You can take kids more places than you can take a dog so… get on with it.” –Kami Thompson
“Put your make up on. Get your nails done. Curl your hair. Run the extra mile. Keep it slim so they like you. Get your shopping on. At the mall. Max your credit cards. You don’t have to choose, buy it all, so they like you. Do they like you? Wait a second, why should you care what they think of you? When you’re all alone by yourself do you like you? Do you like you? You don’t have to try so hard. You don’t have to give it all away. You just have to get up, get up, get up. You don’t have to bend until you break.”
–Colbie Caillat
“It’s like the point of fall and winter. We need to get rid of things so we can regenerate into the spring. It’s just a cyclical thing. That’s the real truth of it all.” –Margaret Cho
“I don’t want to be someone who walks away so easily. I’m here to stay and make the difference I can make. Our differences do a lot to teach us how to use the tools we got and we got a lot at stake. And in the end you’re still my friend. We didn’t break. We didn’t burn. We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in. I had to learn what I got and what I’m not and who I am.” -Jason Mraz
My iPhone is always so telling. Right now we’re thinking (in the long long term) about babies (and we have dogs, so perhaps we’re ready….?). I’m working on loving myself and my choices and my flaws and stop god damn trying so hard. I’m getting rid of things and becoming alive with spring’s rich energy. And I’m loving my partner through all our ups and downs and struggles and differences because well, that’s the point of a partner 🙂
Happy Hump Day!
